Speaker: Dr. Edmund Hau is the Director of Safety at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). Dr. Hau has been working in the field of health, safety and environment (HSE) for more than 20 years. Before joining the HKU, Dr. Hau worked in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Division of Workplace Health and Safety of the Queensland Government of Australia. Dr. Hau possesses BSc in Chemistry, MSc in Occupational Hygiene and PhD in Public Health. He is Chartered Chemist, Certified Occupational Hygienist and Chartered Member of IOSH. He was a Former President of The Hong Kong Institute of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene.

CPD: Certificate will be issued to participants upon completion of the Seminar.
Content: Workers in the construction industry can be exposed to a range of hazards. While physical traumas are fully aware of, the workers tend to underestimate or ignore health hazards at construction sites. However, there is a number of health hazards that could lead to serious occupational health problems. Typical examples are heat stress, dust, noise, chemicals, biological agents, radiation and ergonomic problems. At the seminar, Dr. Hau will explore and explain these hazards and the associated health risks.
Remarks: No attendance certificates will be issued to those who arrived at or after 7:15pm. Certificates without stamp will be distributed to IOSH members during registration. IOSH Branch helpers will validate the certificates by stamping after the seminar. Certificate without stamp is invalid.
