Speaker: Ir S.W. Yip graduated from the University of Postsmouth, UK. He further acquired his Masters degree in University of Birmingham, UK in 1996. He possesses a number of professional qualifications such as Registered Lift and Escalator Engineer and Registered Safety Officer. Ir Yip is currently holding a position of Sales Engineering Manager in Mitsubishi Elevator Hong Kong Co. Ltd.

CPD: CPD Certificate of 1.5 hours will be issued to participants upon completion of the seminar.
Content: WOS has been widely adopting in Japan for the safe installations of lift without the need of scaffolding. Its concept is similar to application of gondola facility which is commonly used for external work of building. Among the WOS, Sky Climber is most suitable for construction sites in Hong Kong because it is not restricted by building height, is not required the use of permanent car frame and is only required small power supply for operation. It makes use of a false car as working platform and employs an endless winch (Alpha Hoist) for hoisting and lowering the platform. The details of the WOS and its safety features for lift installation will be introduced at the seminar.
Remarks: No attendance certificate will be issued to those who arrived after 7:15pm. Certificates without stamp will be distributed to IOSH members during registration. IOSH Branch helpers will validate the certificates by stamping after the seminar. Certificate without stamp is invalid.
