Content: On April 26, the Hong Kong Government elevated the alert for Influenza Pandemic from “alert” to “serious” in response to an outbreak of Human Swine Flu in Mexico with confirmed cases in the United States and Canada. WHO has also stepped up the Influenza Pandemic Alert Level to Phase 5, which is characterized by human-to-human spread of virus into at least two countries in one WHO Region. This is a strong signal that a pandemic is imminent and that the time to finalize the organization, communication, and implementation of the planned mitigation measures is short. Our speaker, Dr. LO Wing Lok, will introduce the nature and symptoms of Swine flu, as well as preventive measures for tackling the Human Swine Flu
