Content: Risk matrix was primarily developed as a screening tool for safety assessment and it has now been applied in almost every sector of activities including Enterprise Risk Management, climate change impact, traffic control, terrorist attack, city planning, etc. The use of risk matrix seems to be a simple operation. You may wish to learn how many “types” of risk matrices currently in use and what can go wrong when designing and using risk matrices? The Speaker will discuss the background of risk matrix and point out typical applications of risk matrix, how to design one, and why there cannot be a standard risk matrix for universal use, as well as the various issues in using risk matrices. The Speaker will address the hidden dangers in risk matrix operations and argue that the use of risk matrix itself is a high-risk operation. If not using carefully, it can yield a false sense of safety. This seminar is designed for those who only use risk matrix casually and would like to explore more about it, as well as those who are familiar with risk matrix and use it everyday.
Remarks: No attendance certificates will be issued to those who arrived at or after 7:15pm. Certificates without stamp will be distributed to IOSH members during registration. The helpers of IOSH Branch will validate the certificates by stamping them after the seminar. Only certificates with our stamp are considered as valid CPD certificates.
