Speaker: Mr Ching Man Chuen, Simon, Occupational Safety Manager of Hong Kong Housing Society. Simon has been working in electrical and mechanical engineering in the property management industry for over 20 years. His invaluable experience in preventive repair and maintenance enables him to set up and maintain a sound Safety Management System for the Hong Kong Housing Society (HS) since 2003. Simon is well-known in his expert and multifarious roles as occupational health and safety system trainer, consultant and auditor. As part of his work within the industry, he has always been invited as the guest speaker of safety seminars, member of judging panel of occupational safety & health competitions, and guest lecturer for various Government Departments and professional associations, such as Civil Service Bureau, Labour Department, Occupational Safety & Health Council, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Hong Kong Construction Association and Hong Kong Cleaning Association.

CPD: Certificate will be issued to participants who have completed the entire duration of the seminar. Each participating member shall collect his/her attendance certificate (with pre-printed name but without the Institution’s stamp) during registration. Upon completion of the seminar, at 8:30pm or later, participants shall proceed to the reception counter for receiving a stamp on the certificate. Only certificates with the Institution’s stamp are considered as valid CPD certificates.
Content: In this seminar, Simon will share with our members his solid experience and the successful experience of Hong Kong Housing Society to actuate a rapid development of safety culture in property management company. The topics of his seminar include:- development, maintenance and continuous improvement of safety management system; operation and monitoring of safety programmes; arrangement of safety training to diversified levels of employees;provision of internal safety inspections for various worksites to ensure safe methods of work practice are being implemented, and prohibit unsafe malpractices and infringements of statutory regulations;analysis of incident investigation report to determine the root cause of accident or dangerous occurrence, if any, and make recommendations to prevent recurrence; and promotion of safety awareness to stakeholders, not limited to employees and workers, for the prevention of injury and damage to properties and lives.Outstanding achievements arising from the implementation of Safety Management System in Hong Kong Housing Society.
Remarks: To prevent the spreading of Influenza infection, we request participants who have influenza-like symptoms, e.g. fever, cough and runny nose, should not attend the seminar.
