Technical Visit on Occupational Safety and Health “Sharing of Safety Aspects in Fire Services Dive Rescue”

Content: The Fire Services Department Diving Base at Stonecutters Island is one of the world’s leading indoor diving training centers, which was officially put into commission in December, 2010. To promote the capability of emergency response and work safety, the Base is equipped with a wide range of advanced diving training facilities and latest rescue technologies which are helpful to enhance the skills and abilities of divers of the Department in body search, navigation, rescue and life saving. Meanwhile, it also provides swift water rescue training for frontline fire and ambulance personnel. During the visit, fire services officers will introduce the training facilities and rescue technologies and the basic operations of the Base. Participants will be able to learn the safety aspects in fire services dive rescue.
Remarks: 1.This technical visit is not covered by insurance policy held by IOSH (HK). Participants may consider taking out insurance policies on their own cost where necessary. 2.The visit will be cancelled if tropical cyclone warning signals, i.e. Strong Wind Signal No. 3, or above / Red or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is still hoisted at 11:00 a.m. on the date of visit. 3.To prevent the spreading of influenza infection, we request participants who have influenza-like symptoms, e.g. fever, cough or runny nose, should not attend the visit. Alternatively, he/she should put on a face mask throughout his / her stay at the visit. Please provide us with your contact information (phone number or email) at the time of on-line registration. We will notify you as soon as possible should any case of Human H1N1 Influenza at the visit venue be confirmed.
