Speaker: Mr. MAK Fat-on (Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Engineering Science, Class 1 Certificate of Competence, Hong Kong Marine Department), Mr. MAK has 10 years of engineering and safety experience working in industrial and private sector and 25 years of marine engineering and safety experience of which 13 years working specifically in government sector. He is now working as Shipping Safety Officer in Marine Industrial Safety Section of Hong Kong Marine Department.

CPD: Certificate of 1.5 hours will be issued to participants who have completed the entire duration of the seminar. Each participating member shall collect his/her attendance certificate (with pre-printed name but without the Institution’s stamp) during registration. Upon completion of the seminar, at 07:50pm or later, participants shall proceed to the reception counter for receiving a stamp on the certificate. Only certificates with the Institution’s stamp are considered as valid CPD certificates.
Content: In this seminar, Mr. Mak will share with our members his solid safety experience in marine construction. The topics of the seminar include: Introduction of marine construction industry; In-depth discussion of Hong Kong Ordinance, i.e. Merchant Shipping (Local Vessels) (Works) Regulation (Chapter 548I), for the marine construction industry including the requirements on workers, lifting appliances and gear and the associate equipment; Factors affecting the occupational safety and health matters of the marine construction industry; Case studies on occupational safety and health issues in the marine construction industry
Remarks: To prevent the spreading of Influenza infection, we request participants who have influenza-like symptoms, e.g. fever, cough and runny nose, should not attend the seminar. Alternatively, he/she should put on a face mask throughout his/her stay at the seminar. Please provide us with your contact information (phone number or email) at the time of on-line registration. We will notify you as soon as possible should any case of Human H1N1 Influenza at the seminar be confirmed.
