Technical Visit on Occupational Safety and Health “Safety Facilities and Services at New OSH Academy”

Content: The Occupational Safety and Health Council is committed to raising the occupational safety and health standards in Hong Kong, while encouraging collaborations between Hong Kong and other regions on workplace safety and Health. The new OSH Academy at Tsing Yi was opened on 11 August 2011 setting a new milestone for its multi-facet safety and health services. The OSH Academy is of six storeys high with an area of 5,000 square meters. It provides additional spaces and opportunities for different services including education, training, promotion, research, and information. There are OSH information Centre, interactive classrooms, different types of practical training grounds, and simulated work environments of different trades. These facilities are set up to cater for different training needs of the industries, allowing the Council to improve the training qualities as well as facilitating the trainees to learn through practical hands on experience. The Academy has an “OSH Information Centre” offering the trainees and the public a one-stop information service including current safety & health laws of different countries, reference books, publications, videos and multi-media materials. This technical visit will provide a valuable opportunity for members to strengthen their OSH knowledge and learn the latest technologies and services in OSH training and information.
Remarks: 1. This technical visit is not covered by insurance policy taken out by IOSH (HK). Participating members may consider additional insurance protection at their own cost where necessary. 2. To prevent the spreading of Influenza infection, we request participants who have influenza-like symptoms, e.g. fever, cough and runny nose, should not attend the visit. Alternatively, he/she should put on a face mask throughout the visit. Please provide us with your contact information (phone number or email) at the time of on-line registration. We will notify you as soon as possible should any case of Human H1N1 Influenza at the visit be confirmed.
