Speaker: Dr Dana LO is the Medical Officer of the University Health Service, The Polytechnic University. She is the Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and the Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians. Dr Lo is actively involved in clinical teaching. She has been appointed as the Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor in Family Medicine, HKU, and the Honorary Clinical Tutor in Family Medicine, CUHK. Dr Lo is also the Medical Officer of the Health Protection Unit, Auxiliary Medical Service. She has experience in delivering health talks on various topics to the public in the past years for different bodies, including the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Rotary Club and IOSH (HK), etc. Dr Lo is also one of the tutors of 社區醫護聯盟, contributing to the health seminars held in Huizhou (惠州) for providing necessary trainings to the general practitioners in China.

CPD: Certificate will be issued to participants who have completed the entire duration of the seminar. Each participating member shall collect his/her attendance certificate (with pre-printed name but without the Institution’s stamp) during registration. Upon completion of the seminar, at 8:30 pm or later, participants shall proceed to the reception counter for receiving a stamp on the certificate. Only certificates with the Institution’s stamp are considered as valid CPD certificates.
Content: Upon the recent outbreak of Legionnaires’ Disease in the Central Government Offices, the problem of Legionnaires’ Disease has arisen serious concerns about public safety and health. Tests revealed that the presence of Legionella bacteria in the Central Government Offices is believed responsible for the case of this Legionnaire’s Disease strikes, This seminar will discuss and provide latest information of the disease to participants, including nature and symptoms of the disease, as well as necessary precautions to reduce the risk of health at workplaces.
Remarks: To prevent the spreading of Influenza infection, we request participants who have influenza-like symptoms, e.g. fever, cough and runny nose, should not attend the seminar. Alternatively, he/she should put on a face mask throughout his/her stay at the seminar. Please provide us your contact information (phone number or email) at the time of on-line registration. We will notify you as soon as possible should any case of Human H1N1 Influenza at the seminar be confirmed.
