“FIVE STEPS TO SUCCESS TO CPD IN HEALTH AND SAFETY” & “BUILDING THE OLYMPIC PARK FOR LONDON 2012 - ACHIEVING EXCELLENCE IN HEALTH AND SAFETY”

CPD: An attendance certificate of 1 hour will be issued to participants who have completed the entire duration of the presidential talk. The participants shall collect their own attendance certificate (with pre-printed name but without the Institution’s stamp) during registration. Upon completion of the seminar, at 8:30 p.m. or later, the participants shall proceed to the reception counter for receiving a stamp on the certificate.
Content: Welcome Reception Casual gathering amongst President and local members for mingling, networking and experience sharing. Distinguished Presidential Awards will be presented to outstanding members of the Branch. Free snacks and drinks will be provided to all participants. Presidential Talk “Five steps to successful CPD” will help you manage your time for completing CPD to assist in improving health and safety profession. The talk will also give a general overview of why members of IOSH are asked to complete CPD, as well as offering suggestions on possible CPD content. In the presentation of “Building the Olympic Park for London 2012 – Achieving Excellence in Health and Safety”, Subash will describe how excellence in health and safety was achieved during the building the Olympic Park for London 2012 for achieving on time, within budget and no fatalities. This involved embedding health, safety and security into every aspect of the project leaving a lasting physical, social and economic legacy. Planning for the construction work, supply chain issues, communication with contractors, leadership and worker involvement are discussed.
Remarks: To prevent the spreading of influenza, any participant who has symptoms of flu, e.g. fever, cough and runny nose, etc, is not recommended to attend the seminar, or is advised to put on a face mask throughout his / her stay at the seminar.
