Half Day Occupational Safety and Health Seminar on FIRE SAFETY IN ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION

CPD: A CPD Certificate of 3 hours will be issued to participants who have completed the entire duration of the seminar. The participants shall collect their own attendance certificate (with pre-printed name but without the Institution’s stamp) during registration. Upon completion of the seminar, at 13:00 p.m. or later, the participants shall proceed to the reception counter for receiving a stamp on the certificate. Only certificates with the Institution’s stamp are considered as valid CPD certificates.
Content: In this half day seminar, we have invited three distinguished and experienced speakers including Ir Dr. Young Wong, Ir Leung Kam-tak and Mr. Matthew Cheung. Ir Dr. Wong will introduce the fire safety design in Hong Kong and China and share with our members some real-life project examples. He will also introduce the Code of Practices for fire safety in buildings and fire engineering principles and guidelines. Ir Leung then will explain the proactive approach in fire safety management for preventing fire in construction projects. In his talk, he will introduce a structured and systematic assessment on fire safety management capabilities, fire protection capabilities, fire risks on site and emergency handling capabilities in fire. Finally, Mr. Cheung will share his valuable experience in servicing portable fire extinguishers and pressurized cylinders of fixed gaseous fire protection systems. He will highlight the key points we should pay special attention in the course of maintenance works.
Remarks: To prevent the spreading of influenza, any participant who has symptom(s) of flu, e.g. fever, cough and runny nose, etc, is not recommended to attend the seminar, or he / she is advised to put on a face mask throughout his / her stay at the seminar.
