|Content:||The 6-storey Kowloon Tong Fire Station-cum-Ambulance Depot with Kowloon Fire Command Headquarters is built to provide fire and emergency ambulance services in Lok Fu, Beacon Hill and Kowloon Tong. These areas are classified as “less congested built-up areas” in terms of fire risk category, under which building fire calls should be met with a response time of six minutes according to current fire-fighting policy. There are a 4-bay appliance room, offices, an exercise room, barracks, a canteen, stores, a locker-cum-changing room, a drying room, toilets and ablutions, an open drill yard and fuel filling facilities at the fire station-cum-ambulance depot. Three fire vehicles (including Hydraulic Platform, Major Pump and Light Rescue Unit) and ambulances are stationed. In this technical visit, staff of the Fire Station will introduce the daily operations and the use of fire fighting and rescue equipment. The requirements of occupational safety and health during fire fighting and rescue operations will also be highlighted in this technical visit.|
