Content: Relationship between proprietor, contractors and subcontractors are commercial, contractual and legal bound. The safety duties were sometime remained arguable in litigation. The seminar will discuss the concept of “proprietor” in terms of statutory responsibilities, including responsibility in safety aspect under relevant statutory provisions. The speaker will discuss the concept of “direct control”, its origin and the relevant statutory development. Relationship between contractors and subcontractors will be elucidated. Other than commercial relationship, their partnership in management will also be a matter of concern.
Remarks: To prevent the spreading of influenza, any participant who has symptom(s) of flu, e.g. fever, cough and runny nose, etc, is not recommended to attend the seminar, or is advised to put on a face mask throughout his / her stay at the seminar.
