Content: Fire safety is a dynamic and rapidly changing environment. Colleagues across the spectrum from designers, architects, builders, facilities managers, fire safety officers and ultimately fire-fighters are acutely aware of the responsibilities that are involved by those engaged in the safety of the public. Presentation will commence with two case studies of fires that have occurred some years ago in the UK and what lessons have been learnt or not. The UK fire sector is at a challenging time at the moment for a variety of reasons, and in order to develop a comprehensive strategy the Fire Sector Federation was formed in order to bring together all sides of the industry that relates to the built environment. The federation, of which IOSH is an executive member, is playing a key role in future developments of the fire industry.
Remarks: You are required to bring your membership cards (for IOSH members) or student cards (for students) and produce them at the registration counter.
