Content: Apron is a special working place in airport with various hazards such as working at height, falling objects, noise, heat stress, aircraft damage and vehicle incidents. There are different apron handling operators in the airport, including airline caterers, cargo and baggage deliverers, refueling agents, aircraft maintenance and cleaning contractors. All of the employees working in these apron handling operators are exposed to different apron hazards. Therefore, the apron handling operators should establish an apron safety management program so as to reduce the risk of those hazards to an acceptable level. The seminar will introduce a well-developed apron safety management program, which has been specially designed for airline catering industry. The program aims to prevent aircraft damage and personal injury through implementing a standard operation procedure and 7 key elements (i.e. Job observation, training, driver file, truck inspection & maintenance, communication channels, accident investigation and audit).
