Content: In Hong Kong, and indeed the world, there are still far too many serious accidents relating to the use of mechanical plant and equipment. Whilst a great deal of effort is being made in promoting the design and adoption of safety features for ensuring a safe operation, there is still a large gap in knowledge amongst many people regarding the importance of “Preventive Maintenance” for ensuring the safe operation of plant and equipment. In the talk, the speaker will share with us his experience and knowledge on the following aspects:- • Maintenance policy • The importance in following manufacturer’s recommendation • Reduction in break downs • Improving production • Preventing incident (accidents) •Working with Regulations and Code of practice
