Commercial Affairs
Our Commercial Affairs department has a strategic remit to 'grow
financial security in an ethical and sustainable way'. We achieve
this goal by offering employee awareness health and safety training
courses. The Commercial Affairs team researches, develops,
approves, promotes, sells, licences, ensures quality control and
certificates our courses, which are delivered through IOSH's
global network of training providers.
Organisations can work with us in three ways:
- Deliver our 'off the shelf' training packages
- Have their own training approved by IOSH
- Mutually agree a one-off individual contract
By educating people to work in a safe and healthy way we create
a safer world of work. Find out more
Communications
Our Communications team is responsible for our strategic aim of
'raising the profile of health and safety and the influence of
IOSH'. To help us do that, we have a team of specialists in
publishing, design, brand management, campaigns, media, web, events
management and market research. The team supports the
communications efforts of all other parts of the organisation and
our branch and group networks, as well as leading and developing
public-facing campaigns.
Ultimately, the Communications team has a dual role:
- To communicate with members (and potential members) the
benefits of belonging to IOSH
- To communicate, on behalf of the health and safety profession,
with external audiences.
Corporate Services
The remit of the Corporate Services department is to support the
achievement of IOSH's strategic priorities by providing first-class
internal support in the areas of human resources, facilities and
committee administration. Our human resources function
provides an advisory and support service on all matters affecting
IOSH employees, and ensures the effective development and
implementation of employment policies in line with legislation and
best practice. The facilities team looks after our head office
site including all maintenance and provision of services and is
also responsible for health, safety and environmental
issues. Through our committee administration team, we provide
administrative support and guidance to IOSH's Board of Trustees, Council and the Nominations Committee.
Finance
Our Finance department is made up of two teams: Accounts
and Information systems.
The Accounts team covers accounts, payroll and budgets while
providing a management information service to the Senior Management
Team, the Board of Trustees and various committees. The team is
responsible for the strategic aim of 'managing the Institution
efficiently and effectively', as well as administrating IOSH's Risk
Management and Audit Committee and managing relationships with
internal and external auditors.
The Information Systems team is responsible for
safeguarding the integrity of our data and for developing and
implementing the information systems strategy that supports our
corporate objectives.
Networks and International
Our Networks and International department supports and develops
the Branch and Group networks and our international work. The
UK Branch network spans England, Wales and Scotland, with
international branches currently located in the Caribbean, Hong
Kong, Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Middle East. The
various Groups are predominately sector-based. Find out more
