Aims and objectives
Aims
The IOSH Caribbean Branch's aims are to:
- promote and support the aims and objectives of IOSH in the
Caribbean
- encourage continuous health and
safety improvement in the
Caribbean by providing access to guidance from suitably
qualified, experienced and competent safety practitioners
- promote, within the Caribbean, the health and safety of people
while at work, and the people who may be affected by work being
carried out
- develop relationships with other government and non-government
agencies and organisations represented in the Caribbean, who share
a common interest in the provision safe workplaces
- promote cross learning and develop global awareness of current
health, safety and environmental issues and developments in the
Caribbean.
Objectives
The IOSH Caribbean Branch's objectives are to:
- formulate the mechanism that will allow constructive discussion
and learning about varied and topical areas of interest to health,
safety and environmental professionals working in the
Caribbean
- provide a forum for members to access Continual Professional
Development activities in the Caribbean
- devise an effective means of communication that will allow
branch members working in different Caribbean islands to stay up to
date with branch activities
- provide a focal point for interested professional, governmental
and non-governmental organisations to promote continually
improving health, safety and environmental performance in
industry
- give senior professionals the opportunity to pass on their
knowledge and experience and help the development of
newer members of the profession.
