Health & safety 'An Insurers Perspective'

Over eighty East Midlands Branch members and their guests listened to John Tutton of QBE Insurance provide an excellent insight to the decision making processes of the insurance industry in relation to health and safety negligence claims. 

John emphasised the importance of training records and how they have assisted when dealing with claims.  John discussed several cases he and his colleagues have dealt with recently. 

The potential impact of the Lord Justice Jackson Report published in January 2010 was discussed and John illustrated its impact comparing costs of a recent case and the likely future costs when the changes are introduced in 2012.

At the end of the presentation John held a question and answer session with the audience.
