Approval for Issuance of Mandatory Basic Safety Training
Certificate (Green Card)
12 July 2010
With the effort and
contribution from our Executive Committee, the Institution of
Occupational Safety and Health (Hong Kong) (IOSH(HK)) has
successfully been authorised by the Labour Department on 7 May 2010
to issue Mandatory Basic Training Certificate (Green Card) to its
eligible members under Section 6BA(4) of the Factories and
Industrial Undertakings Ordinance.
Chartered Fellows, Chartered Members, Graduate Members and
Technician Members of IOSH(HK) can apply for the certificates,
provided that the members have undertaken not less than 5 hours of
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes in respect of
occupational safety and health each year and have updated their
relevant knowledge through CPD programmes from time to time.
Similar to other Green Cards, our certificate is valid for 3 years
from the date of issue.
We now embark on the
respective administrative and logistic arrangements for receiving
and processing applications and a set of relevant application
procedures and requirements will be announced in due
course.
As one of our great steps
towards occupational safety and health professionalism in Hong
Kong, we hope this approval could facilitate our serving to members
better.
