Renewal / Revalidation as a Registered Safety Officer

Dear Members,

We recently received complaints from some members of our Institution on their Registered Safety Officer revalidations under the F&IU (SO and SS) Regulations. During the revalidation process, the Labour Department considers that some of their CPD attendance certificates are irrelevant and could not be counted for revalidation purpose.  We are now planning to collaborate with some other learned safety and health institutions in Hong Kong for meeting the Labour Department to reflect our views and to attempt to solve the problem.

Before we meet other learned institutions and talk to the Labour Department the issue, we would like to collect relevant information from our members. Grateful if you could send us those rejected cases you experienced on or before 31 March 2010.

The information should include:-  

i)  Issuance organization of the certificate 
ii)  Title, Date and CPD hours ofthe seminar/talk that you submitted to Labour Department but was rejected
