Manual Handling Training:An Update
Overview
You are invited to a free evening seminar organised by IOSH
Ireland Branch Eastern District on manual handling commencing at
19:00 in the DIT Cathal Brugha Street, Dublin 1 on Wednesday 22nd
September 2010.
New manual handling and people handling training standards have
been launched by the HSA in conjunction with the Further
Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC). This
is a further update to our seminar held in March 2010, giving
attendees the most up to date position in relation to Manual
Handling Training.
Who should attend?
If you're in the business of providing training or responsible
for the management of manual handling at the workplace, it is
important that you are aware of the new standards, the recent
updates and how they will operate.
Speakers
Frank Power Inspector Health and Safety
Authority. Since joining the Authority he has been involved
in addressing Ergonomic and Manual Handling issues at a strategic
and field level. He has been working in the Preventive
Services Unit of the H.S.A. for seven years. Amongst his
main areas of work he represents the HSA on NSAI, EU
and National Disability Authority work groups and he chairs the HSA
Manual Handling Training Advisory Group. He graduated with a
M.Sc. in Safety and Ergonomics from NUI, Galway, and a B.Sc. in
Quality Management from Sligo Institute of Technology. He is a
Chartered Member of IOSH and a member of the Irish Ergonomics
Society.
What you need to know
The Seminar will commence at 19:00 on Wednesday 22nd September
2010 in the DIT, Cathal Brugha Street, Dublin 1 and will be
followed by a networking session at Toddy's Bar, Gresham
Hotel. There is no need to book, just come along on the
evening.
