Western District
The Western District of the IOSH Ireland
Branch was established in 2007 and provides a service to IOSH
members in counties, Laois, Offaly, Galway, Clare and Limerick.
Currently there are 223 members in the Western District of which 74
are in Limerick and 67 in Galway.
What we do
It is an ideal networking opportunity for occupational health
and safety professionals in these counties. It provides a forum
where Health & Safety/Risk Management can be developed and
promoted in all workplaces.
We schedule a number of events for our members on a regular
basis throughout the year. In May 2008, we held seminars on GHS
system and REACH and in Nov 08 Workplace Transport Safety.
Earlier in 2009 we held seminars on Occupational Health and Radon.
All of these have proved very successful. We are increasing the
number of seminars offered and look forward to your continued
support. Details of upcoming seminars will be updated on this page
in due course and in the Diary Dates section of the IOSH Ireland
website.
Aims
Our aims are to provide our members with information which can
enhance their knowledge of safety and health in the
workplace.
We will strive to increase our membership through networking and to
hold seminars for members and non members in the future. Aspiring
members are invited to contact any Committee Members for further
information.
Committee Meetings
Our Committee Meetings take place on a monthly basis.
Meetings are open to Committee Members only. Members are invited to
forward queries, requests and/or suggestions for further discussion
to any committee member.
