What we do

The IOSH (Ireland) Consultancy Specialist Section consists of a committed group of health and safety practitioners who recognise the potential benefits of sharing their combined experience.

Our aims

The section's primary aims are to:

  • promote the IOSH register of health and safety consultants
  • develop greater awareness of the register
  • help to develop the profile and positive perceptions of IOSH
  • foster relationships with business groups and government bodies
  • provide a forum for networking
  • provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities for members
  • take a proactive approach to monitoring and serving the needs of the section's members
  • liaise with the Consultancy Group.

Register of Health and Safety Consultants

When specialist advice is needed, it's not always possible to manage with in-house personnel alone. This is where the Register of Health and Safety Consultants can help. It means anyone can contact IOSH to obtain a list of registered consultants who can provide health and safety advice. The main geographical area currently covered is Ireland and the United Kingdom. The key value of the register is that it provides verification of individuals who meet the requirements for registration.

How does the service work?

As Europe's leading body representing health and safety professionals, IOSH maintains an exclusive database of those of its members who act as consultants. Contact us with your requirements and we'll try to provide you with a list of consultants who match your needs.

What will it cost?

Use of the register is free. Of course, if you decide to employ a consultant, you'll have to negotiate fees separately with them.
