Moving from compliance to commitment-it's a matter of
negotiation
Overview
The talk will provide an introduction into the
skills of negotiating and achieving influence over those whom we
expect to carry out our wishes from a safety professional point of
view.
Have we a right to expect commitment? Of course not, so why
are we surprised when we only achieve a compliance response.
Refreshments and networking will be from 17:30.
What's in it for me
Many organisations are caught in the
compliance cycle, carrying out the functions as directed in a
health and safety conscious organisation, developing more of a
culture of defence and protect rather than initiative and forward
looking business development.
We live in a compliance driven society where the ogre of the
various enforcement authorities and risk of criminal or civil
proceedings appear to stifle the need to earn not only the respect
but commitment of those in safety critical roles.
This isn’t about inspirational rhetoric this is about the
appreciation, development and deployment of our most accessible
asset - ourselves.
Who should attend?
Any health and safety professional or business
manager who has identified the need to move from compliance to
commitment; with a keen interest in encouraging the workforce
to move toward a truly inclusive health and safety culture.
