North Staffs and South Cheshire District
Our district has a warm and
friendly, informal atmosphere. At our meetings we offer the
chance to:
Advising on IOSH Membership
Over the past few years, we've seen a great deal of change in
both IOSH and the workplace and the NSSC District aims for its
members to become true professionals in health and safety. It does
this by running regular IPD/CPC training sessions prior to each
meeting and also helping members with preparations for the peer
review interview for IPC. We can also advise on levels of
membership up to Fellowship.
Learn about the subject being presented
Branch members are encouraged to invite friends and colleagues
to the Branch meetings. Members are free to circulate details of
the Branch programme at their place of work to encourage new
members.
Network with other safety professionals
There are a wide range of membership levels within our District
from Tech to Fellow who can assist in mentoring and advising on
best practice for any individual who is hoping to join IOSH or
upgrade their membership.
Discuss current issues
We always try to arrange a balanced programme of events at our
meetings and are open to suggestions on current issues which affect
our membership. Similarly if you have been involved in some new
task at work or are trying out some safety topics then why not let
us know about it. We can easily make a slot for you to discuss new
items and new issues which you feel may benefit other safety
professionals.
Seek advice from other attendees
“A problem shared is a problem halved” and with our wide range
of membership levels we have a wealth of experience in safety and
health issues which you can call upon. Just contact one of the
Committee members and see if we can help you.
Make new friends and contacts
Members are encouraged to invite friends and colleagues to the
local meetings. At our venue there is a room set aside for
socialising in which we provide free sandwiches and soft or hot
drinks so that our friendly membership can attend “straight from
work” and new members or visitors can relax.
District members can view reviews and presentations
from our past meetings.
If you would like to know more about the committee you can
view district committee
profiles.
We try and arrange regular meetings at an easy to find location
in Crewe, full details can be found on the Venue page of our microsite.
