This day seminar focuses on a fact-based fatal accident and the full investigation from cradle to grave.  We'll use the Needless Alley incident which happened in Birmingham in December 2006 as a basis with a little elaboration. 

What's in it for me

Delegate will fully experience the steps involved in accident investigation - responsibilities, protocol, what to look for, evidence requirements and outcomes.

Who should attend?

Company directors and any persons responsible for health and safety.  The day focuses on an accident involving scaffolding but the concept and process will transcribe to any situation.

Speakers

We'll have representatives from the HSE, police, commercial contractors and solicitors to take you through the day.  Further information to follow.

Please note: this event is now fully subscribed.  We will keep a smal wait list - if you wish to go on the wait list, please email Sue Phillips.  The Midland Branch Committee are looking at running the event again at an alternative venue.


The cost for the day will be:

John Lawley, FIOSH RSP

John Lawley spent over 40 years of his life dedicated to IOSH and the promotion of improved safety for all.  With a career based in Construction, he strived to represent the industry’s concerns in IOSH and was Chairman of the Construction Group including representing them on the IOSH Council.  He became involved in the Midland Branch during the late 1960s and became Chairman of the Branch Construction Section in 1986.  The following year he was elected Branch Vice Chairman and then became Chairman in 1988.  In 2003 he was appointed Branch President, a post he treasured until his death in May this year.  This seminar is a dedicated to John’s memory in recognition of his contribution to the Midland Branch, IOSH and the world of health and safety.
