Risk Management - Leadership
Overview
This meeting is organised by Midland Branch East District.
Members may arrive at 6.00pm for buffet refreshment and
networking with the meeting commencing at 7.00pm.
Synopsis
A key issue blocking improvements in an organisations health
& safety culture is the way that health and safety
professionals talk to senior management. If health & safety
practitioners are unable to present their views in a way that is
directly related to the wider demands of the business then health
and safety management will be seen as an add-on rather than an
integral part of the business.
What's in it for me?
A key component of the solution is the need for practitioners to
adopt the role of ‘leaders’ to influence the way that senior
management address the topic.
This presentation will look at the qualities
that make a leader as opposed to a manager and demonstrate how
attendees can make the ‘journey’ to become effective leaders.
Members will be asked to develop a vision for
themselves, which will address where they are at present within
their organisations and whether they and their organisation want or
need to be. To complete this journey, the importance of
action planning will be stressed and the participants will be
encouraged to develop personal action plans to develop their
leadership skills.
Cardinus will provide a £200 voucher code to
redeem on their website against their training products and also a
URL so that interested individuals can download their presentation
directly from the Cardinus website.
