The view from the Chair

Welcome to the IOSH Midland Branch!
We have a regular monthly programme of
meetings and presentations and training seminars, based around
three broad themes which are of relevance to all health and safety
professionals.
- professional competency
- working practices
- health and safety management and
organisation.
Recent topics and presentations have included
legal updates, occupational health, civil engineering,
construction, professional conduct and development.
These provide those attending with opportunities to
develop or fine tune their health and safety knowledge and
skills. The meetings are also a good way to meet up with
others with an interest in health and safety for informal
discussion and networking.
The main branch meeting is held on the first
Thursday afternoon of each month, in Erdington near to Junction 6
of the M6, Spaghetti Junction. The Midland branch also has
four active districts and each holds regular evening meetings in
Stafford (North District), Worcester (South District), Rugby (East
District) and Telford (West District and Rugby. Full details
of our programme and venues are on this website.
The programme for the Branch and each District
is organised by a local executive committee. These are made
up of enthusiastic volunteers who are also available to assist with
networking, CPD and IPD and provide a point of contact.
Come along to one of our regular meetings,
there is no need to book. They are open to anyone with an
interest in health and safety. Each meeting provides an
opportunity to learn, to think, to meet up and to network with
others.
I look forward to meeting you,
Keep safe!
