Anne Mageean - Librarian
Anne Mageean
BSc (Hons), Grad IOSH, MinstLM
IOSH membership grade:
Graduate and working towards Chartered!
Why I serve as a committee Member:
I have attended the IOSH NI branch meetings since 2007, and have
seen the hard work the committees have done, providing interesting
and informative events for the members. This year I took on the new
role of librarian, which is in keeping with my love of books and
reading. It was an opportunity to support the branch and meeting
the branch members.
My background and experience:
My experience has been primarily within the Health Service,
where I spent 24 years working within day support for adults with a
learning disability and the elderly. I took a career change in 2007
and am now a health and safety officer for a housing association.
This was a challenging new role, establishing a health and safety
management system, and we achieved OHSAS18001 in 2010.
My specialist skills and knowledge:
I have developed an in-house training package covering relevant
health and safety topics. I enjoy the training and teaching aspect
of my job. I also have Internal Auditor 18001, and I enjoy getting
out and about meeting the staff when completing the audits.
