Tyne & Wear Member Elected Vice President

At the Institutions September Council
meeting elections were held for two vacancies on the Presidential
Team. Barry Tupper, Immediate Past Chairman of the Tyne & Wear
Branch, along with other candidates, gave a short presentation to
the Council Members and then retired for a nervous coffee, awaiting
the election results.

for a three year term which commences on the 9th November following
the IOSH AGM in Leicester. The Vice Presidents also sit on the
Council.
Barry has been a member of IOSH since 1979 and has been an active
member of the Tyne & Wear Branch since moving to the area in
1986, holding several Executive positions including
Chairman.
Phil Tye, chair of the Tyne & Wear branch for which Barry is
the immediate past chair, said he is proud to have a Vice President
not only within the branch but within the region and it is a huge
accolade to Barry and the branch. He also said that he was
delighted that Barry has been elected by the Council and pleased
that the Tyne & Wear Branch will now have a voice within the
Presidential Team and in Council.
