Branch seminar: Don't undermine health and safety
11 August 2010
On 24 June 2010, the IOSH Yorkshire Branch held their annual
branch seminar entitled ‘Don’t undermine health and safety’ at the
National Coal Mining Museum in Wakefield.
The event was very well attended by 136
delegates.
The event featured presentations from West
Yorkshire Fire Service, EEF Ltd, Caritas Ltd and the National
Nuclear Laboratory.
The event consisted of presentations, a
demonstration, exhibitions and also allowed delegates the
opportunity to have CPD mentoring sessions.
Delegates were also given the opportunity to
take part in an underground tour of the mine.
Exhibitors at the event included PROHMS,
Peritus Health Management, EEF Ltd and CSS Worksafe.
Positive feedback was received from the
delegates, including;
‘The Presentations were well
thought out and given in an excellent manor’
‘Very good idea to include
practical demos with fire service - good session
length’
‘A well organised and run
event with a good variety of topics covered. The venue was a well
chosen one’
‘A good value for money event -
thanks to all presenters’
‘A Thoroughly enjoyable event,
gaining much personally and professionally - thank
you’
The event sessions were filmed, and the
Podcasts will be available to IOSH members on the IOSH Yorkshire
Branch Website in the near future.
