Complete guide to training and competence
Tuesday, 08 August 2006
The Institution of Occupational Safety and
Health (IOSH) Rural Industries Group has put together a set of
training and competence guides.
The guides include a vast amount of training information for
those who either work in the agricultural sector or those who are
training in order to do so. Combined, they amount to a
comprehensive directory of training development resources.
Each document covers a separate sector within the rural
industries, and outlines legal requirements, training courses
available, competence assessments and key contact details. The
sectors covered include:
- Animal care - covering animal care/welfare, dairy farming,
gamekeeping, and livestock
- Environment and conservation
- Equestrianism - covering horse riding, stables, care,
training etc and farriery
- First aid
- Forestry and arboriculture operations - covering
chainsaws, stump grinding, tree climbing and aerial rescue,
brushwood chipper, brushcutters, strimmers and clearing saws,
forest machine operations and arboricultural/forest machine
operations
