Lofstedt Report

Dear RIG member
 
The Lofstedt report had much positive content. However you will have seen concern expressed about the way government may choose to interpret this in Connect of 5 December. This was discussed at the recent RIG committee meeting of 14 December. The committee instructed me, as chair, to contact all members.
 
Our sector's accident record is appalling, but much good work has been done and it is better than many other countries.
Obviously IOSH senior staff are lobbying hard at high level, but because our sector is small and specialised  it is important that we all; monitor announcements made by ministers etc, in particular consider implications for the land use industries, identify threats to the progress that has been made, collate information and express our concerns.
