Research and development
We're committed to evidence-based practice
in workplace health and safety. We've established a Research and
Development Fund to support research and inspire innovation as part
of our work as a 'thought leader' in health and safety.
The fund encourages:
- research that will be useful in health and safety practice
worldwide, and which improves health and safety
and public wellbeing
- new ideas that support our strategy and vision of a
world of work that is safe, healthy and sustainable.

As well as commissioning and funding research and development
projects, we actively support other organisations doing research in
occupational safety and health related areas.
We sponsor the British Occupational Health Research
Foundation (BOHRF), a charity that organises and manages
research in occupational health issues, and the Cardiff Work Environment
Research Centre (CWERC), which carries out research
in health and safety, work and well-being and other related
subjects.
