Asia-Pacific Occupational Safety and Health Organization
(APOSHO)
APOSHO is an international body made up of
not-for-profit, non-governmental professional occupational safety
and health organisations.
Full membership is given to organisations based in the
Asia-Pacific region and organisations outside the Asia-Pacific can
join APOSHO as associate or affiliate members. APOSHO currently has
33 member organisations from 22 countries.
The aims of APOSHO are to:
- promote mutual understanding and co-operation in the
Asia-Pacific region
- contribute to the enhancement of occupational safety and health
practice through exchanging information and views.
The APOSHO annual conference is held in turns by the full member
organisations on a voluntary basis. The conference includes keynote
papers and parallel sessions delivered by occupational safety and
health experts, activity reports from the APOSHO member
organisations, reports on the APOSHO committee meetings and
hand-over of the APOSHO secretariat role.
IOSH has been an affiliate member of APOSHO since October 2001
and has attended the APOSHO annual conference regularly. The next
conference, APOSHO 25, will be held in Mauritius in April
2010.
