International Network of Safety and Health Practitioner
Organisations (INSHPO)
INSHPO is a not-for-profit grouping of
international organisations that have 'practitioner members'
devoted to promoting and practising health and safety.
IOSH, along with the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE)
and the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) were the
founding members of the INSHPO network, which was created in 2001.
The ASSE acts as Secretariat for the group.
These organisations came together to discuss the formation of an
organisation that provides an international network for generalist
practitioners in occupational safety and health. Since then, INSHPO
has continued to grow, with more and more practitioner
organisations joining the network.
The aims of INSHPO are to:
- encourage the development of occupational safety and health at
a professional level
- promote and maintain a high standard of ethical practice in
occupational safety and health
- promote and maintain a high standard of competence in
occupational safety and health
- develop INSHPO's profile and influence to become the global
voice of the generalist occupational safety and health
profession.
