Hello and welcome to
Connect
Hello and welcome to another issue of Connect.
As previously reported in Connect, IOSH is supporting the ‘Clean
Air – Take Care’ campaign due to be launched in London next
month.
The campaign aims to help reduce occupational respiratory
disease by raising issues that surround it. IOSH members can hear
more about the campaign at the IOSH 10 conference and exhibition in
Glasgow.
David Lummis, from the British Safety Industry Federation, and Bob
Rajan, from the HSE, will give a presentation to conference
delegates outlining how to correctly select and deploy respiratory
equipment, as well as discussing ways in which support materials,
such as training DVDs and PowerPoint presentations, can be used
effectively in the workplace. To hear about IOSH’s involvement in
the ‘Clean Air – Take Care’ campaign, why not attend the IOSH 10
exhibition on Wednesday 24 March in Glasgow. Register free at the
exhibition website.
In this issue of Connect, we have our third and final article on
respiratory protection, including a closer look at IOSH’s work for
the ‘Clean Air – Take Care’ campaign.
For our Spotlight feature, we travelled to Shrewsbury to meet a
company that organised a ghost hunt after staff members reported
some eerie experiences at the company’s offices.
As well as features, we have the usual round-up of industry
news, IPD dates and the latest Professional Developments
courses.
If you’ve any comments to make about Connect, or would like to
be featured in one of our interviews, please drop us a line.
Thanks for reading.
