Innovation in Safety - Small Business Award: Last chance to
enter
9 January 2012
IOSH Members can boost their career in 2012
by entering the Innovation in Safety – Small Business Award. But
hurry, you only have until the end of January to
enter.
The Innovation in Safety Award is staged by IOSH and the Health
and Safety Executive (HSE) to find new ideas for improving health
and safety in small businesses. The entrant with the best
innovation will win £1,000 and a free ticket to IOSH 2012. It's
also a chance to gain industry-wide recognition – last year's
winner, Anthony Tetlow, saw his career flourish after winning the
award, securing more business through the publicity he
received.
This year, the judges are looking for ideas that have not only
improved health and safety in a small business, but have also saved
the firm money – whether it's lower insurance premiums, reduced
agency staff cover costs or saving money through fewer staff being
off sick.
All IOSH members are eligible to enter the award.
Encouraging members to enter, IOSH Chief Executive Rob Strange
said:
"This competition is an excellent opportunity
to shout about your work. Your ideas will help other organisations
in your sector, and they'll support our
Li£e Savings campaign, which showcases how good health and
safety management can save companies serious cash. We want to show
businesses that by investing in health and safety not only will you
get a more productive workforce, but you'll also get a boosted
bottom line – a 'win-win'."

deadline for entries is 31 January 2012.
