IOSH at World Congress
5 September 2011
IOSH representatives will have a busy
agenda when they take part in the XIX World Congress of Safety and
Health at Work, in Istanbul, next week.
The Institution will be staging a two-hour symposium, with the
theme “Designing out the risk”, as part of the IOSH New Accession
Countries initiative. For those able to attend, the symposium will
take place in Aynalıkavak-1 Hall, Halic Congress Centre, on Tuesday
13 September from 4pm-8pm. And don’t forget to visit IOSH’s stand
(E122) at the exhibition.
IOSH will be attending meetings held by ENSHPO (European Network
of Safety and Health Professional Organisations ) and INSHPO
(International Network of Safety and Health Professional
Organisations).
IOSH will be talking to the International Social Security
Association about contributions to its ‘prevention culture’ and
‘training and education’ sections, and attending sessions for the
International Labour Organisation’s information centre,
CIS.
The Institution plans to sign a memorandum of understanding with
the Macedonian occupational safety and health
association.
And there will be networking opportunities with a chance to meet
the IOSH team and President Elect Subash Ludhra as well as other
OSH professionals for a coffee on Sunday 11 September at 3pm-4pm
and Monday 12 September after lunch, at 1.15-1.45pm. But there will
be other opportunities to network throughout the
Congress.
IOSH international officer Gisela Derrick
said: “Our main aims are to take those opportunities to network,
promote IOSH, and share information with other OSH organisations on
what we are all doing to keep people safe and healthy at
work.”
