New IOSH website launching this month
02 October 2009
With the new IOSH website launching at the end of this month,
the excitement is building. You’ll soon receive your login details,
so you’ll be ready to make the most of the new site as soon as it
launches.
If you’ve been reading the past few issues of Connect
or looking at our preview page, you’ll
already know about some of the features you’ll find on the new
website – like a more interactive MyIOSH desktop, easier-to-manage
CPD and improved forums. Now let’s take a look at what’s included
for branches, groups and events.
With 29 branches including five international ones, as well as
17 groups, IOSH connects like-minded health and safety
professionals the world over. On the new IOSH website, each branch
and group will have its own microsite, and you’ll be able to link
directly to yours from your MyIOSH desktop and other main IOSH
website pages. You’ll find the latest news from your branch and
group and it’ll be much easier to network with other members
through forums, polls, events and resources that are relevant to
your area or industry.
Events are a great benefit to hundreds of IOSH members, helping
you to network and share ideas and information about what’s
happening in health and safety. As an IOSH member, you have access
to over 500 free or low cost events every year, as well as
discounts on professional development courses.
On the new site you’ll be able to access all these events much
more easily. There’ll be a calendar of relevant events on each
branch and group microsite. And on the main events page, you’ll be
able to filter events by date, type, or the branch or group
organising them, or search the whole events diary by keyword. You
can even enter your postcode and search for events within a
specific radius. Once you’ve found your course or event, it’ll be
easier to book your place because you can make any payments or book
free places online. You can even add each event direct to your
Outlook calendar.
